Bhagavad Gita 18.47

"Better is one's own duty, though devoid of merit, than the duty of another well discharged. He who does his own work does not incur sin."

Modern interpretation

In a moment of stillness, receive this: The work that fits your nature will tire you in a way that still feeds you. Borrowed work only drains.

Practical action

Ask: if no one would ever know, what work would I still want to do? Then schedule some of it.

Reflection question

If I had only one year, what would matter — and what would I quietly let go?
