Bhagavad Gita 2.20

The Self is never born and never dies.

Theme: Fear

"The Self is never born and never dies. It has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. Unborn, eternal, ancient — it is not slain when the body is slain."

Modern explanation

In the middle of the day, return to this: The deepest part of you cannot be threatened. Fear is loud only at the surface.

Practical application

Name the worst that could happen, then ask yourself: could I begin to handle it?

Reflection question

What would I do next if I knew I couldn't ultimately be diminished?
